NATURAL STONE SUPPLIERS: Galloway Granite Ltd supplies and works granite, sandstone and whinstone from local sources and abroad. Stone is processed in house to client specification, using a combination of modern machinery and traditional masonry techniques.

PROFILE SAWING:

Top of the range of our new equipment is the CNC Robot diamond wire saw - its moving bed and omni-directional diamond wire allows the cutting of any two dimensional profile imaginable, giving architects and designers free rein to use natural stone in new and different ways.

SLABS:

Working from block ( maximum 12 tonnes or 4000mm x 2200mm ) through to the finished product, we can provide exact slab thicknesses quickly, giving benefits in lead times, flexibility and quality control.

SAWING:

We offer a sub-contracting sawing facility for free issue material, such as boulders, sandstone blocks, etc.

LATHE TURNING:

LATHE TURNING: Among our specialist services is the lathe turning of columns, balusters, urns, spheres, bollards etc. up to a maximum of 2000mm x 600mm diameter.
We have a large range of standard designs or we can transfer your ideas onto computer allowing you to approve the exact design from any of our stock granites.

COMPUTER-AIDED DESIGN:

A full in-house CAD / CAM facility enables us to assist you with design and proofing prior to working the stone, saving time and ensuring accurate transfer and interpretation of information.

SIGNAGE & LETTERING:

As well as driving our computer-cut inscription stencil system, this facility also enables us to offer the full capabilities of vinyl-cut signs and lettering for any application.

ORNAMENT / SURFACE DESIGNS

Designs can be inlaid, sandblasted, engraved, embossed, painted in enamel or carved by hand.

SURFACE FINISHES:

Contrast and interest are greatly enhanced by different surface textures and finishes. Not easily illustrated on a computer screen, samples can be provided. Listed below in order of slip-resistance:
Rustic - the roughest texture
Punched - manually chiselled
Fine picked / Bush hammered - Pneumatic-chiselled, roughest available flat surface
Flame textured - riven by thermal shock to give a non-slip surface
Sandblasted - slightly roughened sawn surface
Sawn - flat, matt, with slight ridging
Honed / Eggshell - smooth but not shiny
Polished - the smoothest, glossiest finish with maximum depth of colour
